A constructed language by Pablo Barenbaum.
Instead of using classic nominative/accusative or ergative/absolutive cases, Chunotl marks the words with a semantic case (agent, patient, topic or oblique).
Language sources: Nahuatl, Greek and Guarani.
Some ideas in Chunotl are inspired by Rick Mourneau's essays. The language aims to have a straightforward—but not rigid—syntax that has few ambiguities. For the phonology, I started with words I liked from other languages and tried to extract word-forming rules.
