Different from Sanye (See: [[Waata]]) (Waat) of the Oromo Group or Dahalo (See: [[Dahalo]]) (Sanye) of Southern Cushitic. Also referred to as “Sanye”, a pejorative term meaning hunter-gatherer group. Being settled in scattered villages and encouraged to switch to farming. Muslim.
