Introduction
Telengit is one of the least-studied of the Altay group of languages. Its status in relation to standard Altay is unclear.
Baskakov (1958) lists two dialects:
- Tölös (spoken along the banks of the Čulyšman and Baškauz and along the shores of Teletskoe lake) and
- Čuy (spoken in the Čuy valley).
