Conjugate Verbs

Introduction

The Mirandese language is related to Asturian and Leonese. Probably separated from them at the time of the invasion of the Moors. A folklore group is promoting the language and culture. The language has been introduced into the schools. The people have a different style of dress from their neighbors (black, handwoven cloth). Official language. Agriculturalists.

The verb

Mirandese verbs are divided in regular and irregular verbs. The vast majority of the verbs are regular.

All the verbs are also divided in conjugation groups according to the ending in the infinitive:

• 1st conjugation (I), verbs ending in -ar : cantar (to sing).
• 2nd conjugation (II), verbs ending in -er : comer (to eat).
• 3rd conjugation (III), verbs ending in -ir : partir (to leave).
