Introduction
The word Nordien (by Aaron Chapman) translates as Northerner. This name reflects Nordien's position as a language of the Germanic family, along with others of northern Europe such as German, English, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and Icelandic. It was constructed to be simple, but not to such a degree as to break with the common Germanic spirit. It is acknowledged that other constructed languages such as Esperanto may indeed be simpler and more logical, but the design goals of Nordien include a desire to maintain a Germanic structure, and generally to preserve the familiarity of the Germanic forms.
