Introduction
South Azerbaijani is a Turkic language spoken in the Azerbaijan region of Iran. Although there is a very high degree of mutual intelligibility between South Azerbaijani and North Azerbaijani, there are significant differences in phonology, lexicon, morphology, syntax and sources of loanwords.
